artMinds Gallery invites ALL artists to join the PiggyBack Perversion 2007.

On Tuesday, August 14 at 6pm, artMinds will hold an orientation for interested artists wishing to participate in Piggyback Perversion 2007, where each artist will be briefed on the one and only rule, and given his or her "random" original.

Piggyback Perversion is the art of taking an existing painting (usually found at thrift stores) and re-creating the subject matter, while incorporating at least one element from the original into the new. This is the one and only rule, and the extent of the definition of Piggyback Perversion 2007. Artists will then have 3 weeks to re-create, or Piggyback, their new vision for the original work. Final art is due at artMinds on Monday, September 3.

Unveiling and reception for Piggyback Perversions will be at artMinds Studio for Art After Dark on Friday, September 7. New creations will be hung next to prints of the original artwork. All Piggyback Perversions will be auctioned off by silent auction that evening for charity.
